Steinway & Sons flagship store in Tokyo
“We have designed the Asian flagship store of Steinway & Sons in Tennoz Isle. Our aim was to create a space where their clients can feel Steinway’s craftsmanship, philosophy, history, and the beauty of their instruments. Clients will feel attached to everything about Steinway in this showroom, beyond the concept of “objects”.
Patents… Patents are made out of brass, and baked in a sand mold. This traditional manufacturing process represents their craftsmanship. Each plate has patent number and name engraved, sealing their traditions and histories. Flooring… We installed a Herringbone floor to reproduce Steinway’s woodworking craftsmanship spirit in the interior space. We used 5 kinds of wood (beech, bubinga, walnut, maple, and mahogany), which are also used for making pianos. These details add dignity, which is backed by traditions and records, to the interior.”

Italian designer Paolo Cappello has designed a music cabinet with embedded hi-def bluetooth speaker called Caruso for Miniforms company. It is made entirely by hand and by Italian masters in Meolo (Venice). The design marries elegant finishes such as lacquered wood, canaletto walnut and precious Italian oak from 1700. Caruso won CDG Design Award for 2015. Article from DEZEEN.

Dance, dance…Pina Bausch
A tribute to the late German choreographer, Pina Bausch, as her dancers perform her most famous creations. The film presents extracts from some of the most noted dance pieces by Pina Bausch in the Tanztheater (“dance theater”) style of which Bausch was a leading exponent. The extracts are from four pieces: Le sacre du printemps (The Rite of Spring), Café Müller, Kontakthof, and Vollmond. These are complemented with interviews and further dance choreographies, which were shot in and around Wuppertal, Germany; the film includes scenes showing the Wuppertal Schwebebahn, an elevated railway, and some dance sequences take place inside its carriages.

Bat for Lashes — What’s A Girl To Do
Well, may be this is kind of scary. Hares driving on the bicycles and clapping their hands at the same time? A masterpiece from the year 2007. Still our inspiration.
