A team of designers at THAT! Inventions have created an ice cube tray that freezes liquids in 10 minutes.

They wanted to re-think the traditional ice cube tray, and they ended up designing FreezTHAT!, a tray with a unique shape that has cooling fluid sealed within it’s flexible, silicone body.

The interactive table, which was developed by students at Lund University and Eindhoven University of Technology together with design consultancy IDEO, can identify an ingredient placed on it via a camera and image-recognition technology. It will then suggest other ingredients to combine with it and can take the user through a full step-by-step recipe via instructions projected directly onto the surface of the table. “It sees what grocery you put onto it and decides through colour, shape and size what grocery it is,” explains Lund University student Ingrid Allenbach in the movie. “It will then suggest what will go well with it and give you recipes to guide you through how to cook them.”

WKW is a small cafe with Asian cuisine. The main task was to create an Asian cafe without any specific Asian details. The interior solution is very concise and provides an Asian theme with large laconic color spots. Pine plywood and its picturesque fiber – the main decorative material in the interior.

Inspired while on a picnic with friends, Korean designer Yeongkeun Jeong conceived the idea for Butter! Better! after forgetting to bring a knife along. A simple yet brilliant idea, Yeongkeun tells Designboom that he wanted the product to “satisfy people both sentimentally and emotionally” because he believes eating is “not just a behaviour to achieve satiety, but involves all the senses”.
